Slim & Husky’s to Host Debate Between District 21 Candidates Ahead of Runoff Election

Brandon Taylor & Ed Kindall will answer questions at the restaurant’s North Nashville location

[NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, August 21] Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria is opening its restaurant at 911 Buchanan Street for a rare event, Pizza + Progress, on Wednesday, September 4. Metro City Council District 21 candidates, Brandon Taylor and incumbent Ed Kindall, will participate in a debate hosted by the company’s co-founders and North Nashville natives and moderated by local entrepreneur and radio personality from 101.1 The Beat, AG Granderson. Registered voters of District 21 will receive pizza specials during the duration of the debate. Bring proof of residence or your voter’s registration card to get the dinner special.

The initial election on August 1 left 4 at-large seats and 8 district council seats open. One of the contested races is in the district where the first Slim & Husky’s restaurant resides. The area is currently navigating issues including neighborhood crime, encroaching development, rising property taxes, and is grappling with infrastructure needs. 

Slim & Husky’s is gathering questions from members of the community online, as well as in their store. Interested individuals can comment on this post with their questions. The debate will be streamed live from the company’s Facebook page. 

“We’re hosting this debate to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the candidates so they can make the best decision for themselves at the polls in September,” Slim & Husky’s Chief Marketing Officer Clint Gray said.
